Let's Start a Revolution!
Most know Rev Wear as the annual eco-friendly fashion show in Hamilton. However it is also the name of the fashion forward clothing line by Sapphire Singh. She takes vintage pieces and refurbishes them a lot like Preloved. Her pieces are often asymmetrical and witty. My favourites are the Men's Yellow Cardigan with the heart patch and the women's red asymmetrical sweater dress. I am happy to announce that Hawk & Sparrow is now housing some of Sapphire's designs.

Wayyyy Back!
A friend picked this bracelet (circa 1890) up at an auction for me. It is originally from France but made in Turkey. There is some arabic writing on it which I am currently trying to get translated. It has an interesting shape and a secure fastener to lock it in place. It is the oldest piece I have in the store and I am dying to know its full history. It's so cool to have something that old. Come down to the store to see this gem!

Christmas Wishlist for Him
I thought it would be helpful to do a Hawk & Sparrow Christmas wish list for the people you are buying for. Here are a few items you can find at Hawk & Sparrow for the guys in your life.

A More Reserved Time
On a trip to Montreal last weekend, my mom visited a very dear friend of ours who gave her some of her mother's wedding night lingerie to give to me for the store. I am so touched and can't get over how beautiful the pieces are. Maybe it's me romanticizing the past but there is something so classy and elegant about vintage lingerie that you just don't find in modern day lingerie. It could be that we are so overtly sexual these days that lingerie reflects that attitude whereas in the past sex was not to be discussed and the lingerie certainly has a more innocent and slightly reserved look. I love the pastel colours and the intricate stitching in these pieces.
